Maine Friends, Jackie and John Morgan

Jackie and I traded State quarters and so after a few years of cyber exchanges, we go to meet in person.  I parked at their home on the lake a couple days… and got to visit, but they also have a cat so I had to limit my time inside the house.

Short little Jackie, me, and SwankieWheels.  I left my trailer at their place while I explored Maine.  That sure helped with gas mileage.

Maine Vandweller Meet-up

Got to meet another vandweller in Maine at a Wal-Mart and followed her to Acadia National Park… where she showed me around.  I thought it was a very nice visit, but I am not allowed to share any identifying photos on my blog.

And our brief visit was over and off she went.  What a nice visit and great weather.  Wish I could share the other wonderful photos I took of our visit.

Fryeburg Faire, Maine

A few decades ago I ran across this event, the Fryeburg Faire,  while exploring Maine back roads and every since I’ve wanted to visit it again.  There is really no way to quite explain it.  Animals and People of all shapes, sized, colors, and ages.  You feel like you stepped off Earth onto another planet.  So… I’ll just do a slide show for now.

In 2006, I was shopping for a wheelchair. By 2007, I had new knees, better health and by 2008 a kayak. In Aug 2013, I kayaked my 49th state, Alaska, at the Holgate Glacier and in May 2014, I kayaked Hawaii, my 50th state, to celebrate my 70th Birthday and the finale to the wonderful adventure of Kayaking America. Next up... Re-kayaking southwestern states.
