24th State: Maryland (Nov. 2, 2010)

Just kayaked Delaware and found a place almost immediately in Maryland where I wanted to kayak.  Details to follow.

Put in at the Ocean City Municipal Airport on Sinepuxent Bay… near Mystic Harbor.  First photo taken from near the Airport… looking across to the sand strip (Assateague Island  north end) between Sinepuxent Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

Short paddle across the Bay… and I was hoping to see the famous ponies of Assateague State Park/Island.

First thing I saw when I got to the other side was evidence of the ponies.  No ponies, just evidence.

After returning to my van and stowing my kayak, I explored the area a little.  Two paddles in two states in one day… and it’s getting cold.  I am tired.  There are so many people back her in the East.

Hey, there’s the proof, the earth is round.

So windy, it’s blowing my hat off.  OK… onward… southward.  Got to get to my sister’s in Florida in time for Thanksgiving.

  2. Thanks, Pat. Welcome. And at 68, if I can kayak the entire country... most people should be able to. I have noticed on this trip... that things that used to concern me... no longer worry me. That's kinda nice.
